INFIGO & ALTA AUDIO
The Infigo Audio system was comprised of the Infigo Method 4 Digital to Analog Converter ($35,000), the Method 6 Class A Stereo Amplifier ($20,000), the Method 3 Class A Monoblock Amplifiers ($55,000), and the Alta Audio Hestia II speakers ($37,500).
My notes reflect that the sound of the Infigo system as wed to the Alta Audio Hestia II speakers was, “Quite easy to hear that the depth of the bass extends easily to the ‘Holy-Bass-Head-Grail’ while taking no prisoners in its journey. Further, the quality of the bass is well resolved, detailed, and the transients lickety-split fast. I ask for Joan Shelly’s eponymous album and the track thereon—”We’d Be Home”—soon plays. I notice immediately the depth of the soundstage, the transparency and the attendant resolution, which dig deep to reveal copious amounts of detail. There is a ‘sigh’ released, an indication for me that this is very good, if not exceptional, and I am not now awaiting unpleasant anomalies.
This is my second listening via the Infigo components as married to an Alta Audio speaker (the Adam being the first) and in all cases the music was very high-fidelity and memorable. My sincere thanks to Hans and Mathilda Looman.
