The little HEED Elixir was the amplification at the center of this rather compact system and given its very moderate price tag, it was providing truly wonderful music from the VPI Forever Turntable to the Genesis Minuet loudspeakers.

There was a broad and deep soundstage provided by the Genesis Minuet loudspeaker, which had a strong center image and center fill on jazz, wonderful separation, great extended treble energy, that was well resolved, and good low bass impact as well.

The HEED VPI combo, which utilized the HEED’s mm phono-preamplifier was eyeopening. The music was natural and engaging with surprisingly good vocal texture, harmonics, and great transparency.

It was yet another small, moderately priced system that was going above and beyond its pricepoint.
