Earlier this year, Micah Sheveloff received tremendous positive critical response to his album, Rockville. It is a work of great beauty. Sheveloff decided to have the album mastered for vinyl, and we are very glad he did. You can read our review of the digital release Here.

We received a copy of the newly available vinyl and could not wait to give it a spin. The pressing quality is superb. Heavy vinyl, a non abrasive sleeve, and a very nice lyric and credit sheet! We spun this black circle on a Rega Planar 6 / Rega Fono MC combo. The album was dead quiet, and had a warmer, more intimate presentation than the digital files.

Sheveloff’s vocals and piano playing especially benefited from the analog mastering. Perhaps our favorite song this time around is the last song on the album, the title track, “Rockville”. But the opening track on Side 1 is “High Notes” is so darn catchy. See video below

The album is a bargain considering the pressing quality and care put into the project. Supporting independent artists is essential these days, and we would urge you to do that as much as you can. You can order the LP hereHERE

The digital album can be found on all major streaming services, and here is a link- Micah Sheveloff Streaming partners.
