GESHELLI LABS
At AXPONA 2023, Geshelli Labs showcased their two new models, the $599 Archel 3 PRO headphone amplifier, and the soon–to–be released Zoofa, with a price that’s yet to be set. The Archel3 PRO features tone controls and discreet op amps from Sparkos Labs, and is a big step up from their existing Archel 2.5XL and fully balanced ERISH2. Their current HPAs utilize monolithic or integrated op amps instead of more costly discreet versions.
The Zoofa, first shown at the recent Florida Audio Expo, is a major departure for Geshelli Labs; a full size, integrated amp that embodies the wacky yet obsessive attention to fidelity and value that characterizes everything they do. The Zoofa is named, as with all things Geshelli, as an homage to a beloved colleague. It includes relay–bypassable Baxandall tone controls, quelle horreur, and will develop a modest (by today’s standards) about 70 Watts into 8 Ohms when it ships. During our visit, Kermit and I, designer Gino Bisheglia was geeking heavily on the inclusion of classic equalization, rarely seen in components these days.
