MACO & GESHELLI labs
Given the ‘newness’ of the various components of the MACO-GESHELLI system, having just made it to the market, the sound that this system ‘sung’ into the room was outstanding! I sat mesmerized by this system of GESHELLI amplification components—GIUSEPPE Preamplifier, Z-BLOCKS Monoblocks, and DAYSEE DAC—and the MACO MACARIA Loudspeakers, which despite the system’s youth, was making, truly, incredible music.
My notes reflect, “This system is demonstrating an exceptional soundstage, that is deep and wide, spatially adept—positioning, layering, center-fill, relative space, air—with great texture. Tone and timbre are wonderfully natural, which make the entire experience incredibly immersive.” Given the imagined cost, as GESHELLI LABS costs were not yet finalized, this was a system that competed far above its price point. In fact, an earlier visit to a room had speakers that would be, at least, double (probably triple) the cost of the entire MACO-GESHELLI LABS system. And that system could not compete with the MACO-GESHELLI LABS system! Wow!
I spoke very briefly with Deborah of MACO to let her know how good this system sounded. And given my visit to the GESHELLI LABS room, just prior, the only difference between the two rooms, was the MACARIA loudspeakers. Yes, the GESHELLI LABS gear had proven themselves yet again, but the MACARIA loudspeakers seemed to lift the entire performance. And despite the system’s newness, its small scale, and, relatively, low price, it must be considered a runner-up in regard to Best of Show sound. This is, of course, incredible! Bravo!
