VINYL SOUND USA
Let me not beat around the bush—waste time on worthless banter—this was, clearly, one of the Best Rooms of the show. There were a lot of very good rooms at the Capitol Audio Fest (CAF) but this room stayed with you. There was only one other room that would rise as high as the Vinyl Sound room.
As unassuming as it was in and ‘old school’ kind of way, with the Tannoy Stirling III LZ Limited Edition Speakers ($12,500/pair) mounted with the Tannoy Prestige SuperTweeter ($4,390/pair), the Accuphase E-800 Integrated Amplifier ($19,975), the Transrotor Dark Star Turntable ($5,490) with Shelter Harmony Cartridge ($4,900), this system was incredibly transportive! What this combo did and amazingly so, was to transport the performance to you and in a way that was incredibly palpable, richly textured, transparent, and with, perhaps, the best center image that I’ve heard in a very long time. I recommended this room, as I walked the corridors of the CAF, to a number of people. And when I saw them again most either gave the room thumbs up or thanked me for the referral. They all agreed on how good the music was in the Vinyl Sound room.
Bravo to Daniel Kuburovski of Vinyl Sound, to TJ and the guys at AXISS AUDIO, and to Craig Hoffman of Rhythm Distribution! You all knocked it out of the park!
