I should let it be known, that I own the BorderPatrol SE-i DAC with the USB and SPDIF inputs and it is one of my most favorite DACs. It absolutely has that ‘old school’ analog-like voice that makes listening to music, well, rather beautiful and it is also very transparent and detailed.

That said, the overall sound was okay, not exceptional by any means. I don’t know if it was the Innuos Statement streamer or, perhaps, the Living Voice R80 speakers, but for some reason I couldn’t hear my beloved SE-i DAC like I know it sounds. Something was stifling it.

Could it have been the room? Certainly, perhaps it wasn’t dialed in as well as it should have been. This happens more than most know. I don’t know. And I’ll leave it at that.
